SCHERTZ, Texas – A juvenile was stabbed during a fight Tuesday afternoon at the Schertz Playscape at 629 Westchester Drive, according to Schertz police.

The Schertz Police Department received a call around 4:50 p.m. about a fight in progress at the playscape, but by the time officers arrived the fight was over.

Police received a follow-up call from the parent of one of the teens saying her 14-year-old son had been stabbed at the playscape, according to a police news release.

The victim’s mother told KSAT that her son was stabbed in the leg, the shoulder and the stomach.

“He had to have emergency surgery due to his intestines sticking out of his stomach,” she said.

Police were able to identify the juvenile who stabbed the boy and aggravated assault charges were filed, according to a spokesperson for SPD.

Police said the suspect’s parents are cooperating with the investigation.
