SAPD IDs suspect in fatal stabbing at motel room

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a 32-year-old suspect who they say stabbed a man multiple times, resulting in his death.

James Walker, 32, is wanted for murder following a stabbing that occurred in a motel room around 12:30 a.m. Friday in the 5700 block of Industry Park Drive, near Interstate 35 and Rittiman Road.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified David Overstreet, 49, as the victim.

Police said Overstreet and a woman were arguing in a motel room, and the woman involved told her relative about the argument.

The relative then told the suspect, Walker, about the situation, police said.

Walker confronted Overstreet in the room and the fight ensued. Walker pulled out a knife and stabbed the man multiple times in the torso, according to SAPD.

He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition but later died.

Police said Walker is wanted on a murder charge.
