Man in critical condition after being shot at Northeast Side apartment complex, San Antonio police say

SAN ANTONIO – A 18-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot during an altercation on the city’s Northeast Side Tuesday evening, San Antonio police said.

The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 8000 block of Bentley Drive, not far from Walzem Road and Midcrown Drive.

According to police, a group of men had met up at an apartment complex when an argument occurred.

Police said the suspect pulled out a gun while inside his vehicle and the victim was shot in the back as he and a friend fled.

The suspect drove off in a white Toyota, police said. A witness said they knew the who the shooter was.

SAPD said the wounded man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and he currently is in intensive care.

Investigators say they are still hoping to speak with the victim and are confident they will make an arrest in the case.
